Teaching the Election (webinar) - September 17, 2024

Professional Learning | NEASC Forum

49% of the world’s population lives in countries holding national elections in 2024, including, of course, the United States where election season is in full swing. How do teachers handle the necessity to engage with such important current events, while keeping the peace in their classrooms? This Forum will focus on civics education, specifically surrounding consequential elections, and concrete ideas and strategies for navigating sensitive topics, misinformation, and ideological divides, to prepare young people to be engaged, empathetic, and informed participants in their communities.
