NEASC/COBIS partnership
Through a cooperative agreement with The Council of British International Schools (COBIS), schools accredited by NEASC have a streamlined route to COBIS membership. Reciprocally, COBIS member schools that are not yet accredited by NEASC may pursue NEASC Accreditation through a simplified process which aims to avoid unnecessary duplication and paperwork. COBIS and NEASC are very pleased to offer this mutual recognition of each other’s accreditation schemes as a route to membership for the benefit of the wider international school community.
"The school has participated in a pilot program that facilitates the cross-accreditation by COBIS of NEASC accredited schools. Upon receiving our NEASC re-accreditation via the ACE Learning protocols, and having already provided COBIS with a Statement of Commitment to British Education, we forwarded our NEASC report to the COBIS accreditation department. We received news of cross-accreditation within a week. We were thrilled to participate in the pilot program and proud to be accredited by two such prestigious bodies in such close proximity."
— Alan Morley, Head of School, English Modern School Doha
NEASC Accredited schools interested in joining The Council of British International Schools can meet the COBIS Quality Assurance requirement by submitting their NEASC Accreditation credentials. In other words, a NEASC Accredited school interested in joining COBIS may be eligible to join the COBIS family of schools without doing any further accreditation work beyond NEASC.

COBIS member schools may add NEASC accreditation through one thorough school visit based on the NEASC Foundation Standards. Once a school has successfully achieved NEASC Accreditation, the NEASC ACE Protocol will be used for future cycles, rather than the COBIS process. In this manner, schools will be able to easily retain their COBIS accreditation by sending them required documents such as NEASC visit reports and other documents they require.
